Welcome To eXergy's Build Blog
Well, I didn't have any time this past semester to update the build blog, but we did make progress. We haven't built anything, but we designed it all in delicious CAD:![]() That's a back view. Hit the jump for more. 0 comments send to friend |
OMG! It's PISTONTASTIC!![]() ![]() That's a 4" bore, 4" stroke, 200 PSI piston. Sadly, BBIQ limits us to 150 PSI, but whatever. We'll still get over 1800 lbs of force out of it :-) It weighs about 10.7 lbs with those honking valves on there, but we might be able to take those off... I'm not sure what their purpose actually is (aside from looking sweet). As for the good news, we got a $2000 budget and they are telling us if we can get the bot done (which we will) we'll get travel too. Awesome. 4 comments send to friend |

Well, some news on exergy. First off, new design. We decided on a flipper, since we'll be able to use the old weapon (from the robot that competed several years ago). As much as I love spinners, there is just no budget for it... which brings me to the next issue. We lost a team member, so we are down to 3 people (including me). This is a undergrad senior level capstone project... and they are giving the three of us $1000 US (total) to build the robot, and we have to assemble the thing in my dorm room because there is no room at the engineering center... BA! We'll probably be selling parts off the old robot to recoup some costs... and you know, so we can buy speed controllers (which we'll need four of... because...) Mecanum wheels! We are really excited about building a flipper with mecanum wheels. The extreme maneuverabillity is going to rule. We'll be playing a lot of Katamari Damaci to practice driving ;-) Now, a target render: 0 comments send to friend |

Welcome to the eXergy Bot Blog! My name is Adam Wrigley and I'm currently a senior atLafayette College. I'm majoring in mechanical engineering, and for my senior project I will be to building a combat robot along with three other team mates. If everything goes as planned, we'll be competing with eXergy in April/May 2007 at the Battlebots IQ college tournament. Read on for the latest on eXergy. 1 comments send to friend |
